Our Beginning
Team Jag is based at the Cambridge Engineering lab and their respective students and advisors operating out of Miami Lakes Educational Center since their formation in the spring of 2008. It is with thanks to the enthusiasm and ability of the team’s members, mentors and sponsors that Team Jag is able to excel as a nationally contending robotics team.
Our Brief History
Immediately after forming, we competed in our maiden competition at the Miami-County Youth Fair BotsIQ demonstration event with our first robot named “Thump”. Team jag placed 6th of 15 competitors.
Two weeks after the Fair, Team Jag competed at BotsIQ National Competition at the Miami Beach Convention center. Sixty-Five teams competed in the 15lb. class. Team jag appeared with 2 of our 2nd generation bots, named Rattler and Rattler 2. Rattler 2 placed 6th in this national competition while Rattler placed 12th of 57 bots.
Team Jag competed at the Youth Fair again, the event was named “Mayhem in Miami”. Team jag placed 1st with Rattler 2 and 3rd with Rattler.
On October 14, 2009 Team Jag participated in Mayhem in Miami III hosted by Ransom Everglades. Rattler, Rattler 2, and TTATT entered the competition; Sting 'em made its first appearance as a spectator. TTATT placed first after an explosive match and Rattler 2 tied for 2nd.
